The Project

A riverside block, reopened

  1. The Brief

    A dark, forgotten riverside block

    The River Street public amenities had become dated, with surrounding vegetation limiting natural light and views of the nearby river. The project provided an opportunity to improve the facilities and create a cleaner, more open space.

  2. The Scope

    What we delivered

    We carried out demolition, carpentry, roofing, drainage, bricklaying, rendering, tiling, fit-off, plywood ceilings, painting and decorative screens. Trusted electrical and plumbing trades were engaged, with Akers delivering everything else in house.

  3. Our Approach

    End-to-end delivery

    Akers managed the project end to end, including project management, site management and WHS management, coordinating trades to open the space back up to the river and make it clean, safe and welcoming.

  4. The Outcome

    On time, and shared with pride

    The client was very happy with the result and shared it on Facebook. The job was completed on time.
